PRECISION’s lined Storage Tanks are available in both vertical and horizontal configurations, 24” to 96” diameters, and 125 to 5500 gallon capacities. Storage tanks can be used in combination with an electric or gas boiler, or some other independent heating source, for storing and/or heating domestic hot water.

When properly sized and used in the above mentioned combinations, a water heating system, which provides the right storage capacity and recovery for the time interval needed, can be designed to deliver potable hot water for any job. Because each application varies in total volume, flow rate, duration and timing of peak load period, and temperature needed, a large selection of sizes and capacities is offered by PRECISION. Larger sizes, higher design pressures, and other customizing are also available from PRECISION upon request.

ASME Information

All PRECISION tanks are constructed in strict accordance with the standards of the applicable code of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). PRECISION is National Board Certified under the following codes: “H” – Heating Boilers; “HLW” – Lined Water Heater; “M” – Miniature Boilers; “S” – Power Boilers; “U” – Unfired Pressure Vessels, for design and fabrication of tanks and vessels of all sizes and types. PRECISION is also approved by Underwriters Laboratory and the American Gas Association for Boilers and Tanks requiring those specific codes.

The ASME code symbol assures you that PRECISION tanks conform to all the applicable ASME requirements. These standards govern the material, design, fabrication, labeling and inspection of pressure vessels. The ASME stamp with appropriate symbol can be applied only by an authorized inspector holding a National Board commission after a thorough inspection of each tank as it is being fabricated. The inspector visually checks quality of materials, dimensional conformity, welds, alignment, and quality of all welds. A final inspection is performed when the tanks are hydrostatically tested at 1.5 times design pressure (1.0 times design pressure for HLW tanks) to observe for leaks. Manufacturer’s Data Reports, which have been verified by the inspection agency, are then sent to the National Board in Columbus, Ohio, where a factory assigned number serves as a source of filed information.
