- 4900 Series' Air Seperator
The 4900 Series' integral PALL ring technology has been proven in countless European installations. PALL rings are used in the processing industry to mix gases with, or separate gases from liquids. The use of PALL rings in hydronic air separation is so unique, it's patented. By applying PALL ring technology to air and dirt separation, the 4900 Series will:
- Remove microbubbles as small as 18 X 10-6m from the system;
- Remove air which has dissolved in the system's water;
- Remove air from places where an air vent cannot be installed;
- Remove and separate solid particles from the flow.
Sizes from 2" to 16"

- Expansion Tanks
In Taco "CA," "CBX," "PAX" and "CX" Series Expansion Tanks, the air is held captive on the shell side with all expanded fluid being directed into the bladder (CA, CBX and PAX Series) or diaphragm (CX Series) chamber. This permanent separation allows the tank to be precharged to the minimum system operating pressure (Pf) eliminating the need for many gallons of charge water to compress an atmospheric condition to the system requirements. The expanded fluid in the bladder or diaphragm chamber compresses the precharge to the maximum system pressure (PO) which then pushes the fluid back into the system as it contracts. No absorption can take place during the system cycle. Properly sized, selected and located air separation and removal components can provide a stable, tight and closed hydronic system. In most properly sized "CA" systems the tank size can be reduced by up to 80% when compared to the old style plan steel tanks. Sizes range from 7.8 gallon tank volume to 2640 gallon tank volume.

- Vortech Air Separator(™)
The Taco Vortech Air Separator(™) is designed to provide an enhanced level of air removal in hydronic heating, cooling or combination systems. Air is quickly and effectively separated and vented through a factory installed Taco 418 ¾" Hy-Vent. The Taco Vortech Air Separator(™) uses a tangential design to create a chamber of swirling water and air in which a low pressure area forms in the center. Combined with the Bubble Breaker Cartridge and a downward direction change in the flow of the water before exiting, air is quickly and effectively released upward and out through the Taco 418 ¾" Hy-Vent. Sizes range from ¾" NPT to 2" NPT.
